The Montessori Community School on Wednesday, March 3 is: open on time
Toddler Program open 8:15 - 11:30
Primary Program open 8:15 - 3:00
Elementary Program open 8:15 - 3:15
Adolescent Community open 8:30 - 3:30

Before School Care is as usual 7:30 - 8:15.

All After-School Programs are: as normally scheduled.

Late Day care: is 3:00 - 5:45 for Primary students and 3:15 - 5:45 for elementary students

Any evening activities and events are: as scheduled

The Montessori Community School operates independently of the public school system regarding inclement weather closings. You may obtain information in the following ways:

This page will be updated as soon as we can be confident of an accurate reliable decision. Waiting till the early morning hours of a school day to make the final decision allows MCS to be open more than making the final decision the night before. In cases where inclement weather is threatening, we recommend making contingency plans the night before.

If a storm occurs during the school day when school is in session, we will close the school at our discretion. An email from school will be sent with the closing information. And we will endeavor to post this information at the above locations. However you may rest assured that adults will stay at school with the children until every child is picked up - don't risk an accident getting here!

In the event of widespread power outage, please listen to WUNC RADIO to see if we have closed. if we lose power, we will not have telephone service. The website may be accessible since it can be operated from off campus, but check the date above to be certain you are looking at a recent announcement.

When opening late, MCS will not have any early morning care.

MCS may resume school sooner than public schools do. School re-opening information will be given through the school voice mail message and website (see above).
