We will offer a Half (8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.) or Full Day (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) camp option as well as extended care (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.) for our youngest campers. Each week is slightly different, but all will be filled with fun, adventure, and learning in a familiar location for your child. This camp is open to current and incoming MCS students only.
This year’s camp will be developed and led by Marty Pomerantz, longtime resident of Chapel Hill and retired Director of Carolina’s Campus Recreation Program (after 21 years). Marty’s staff will be a carefully selected group of college students with varying interests and backgrounds in camping, athletics and physical education, the arts and science. The two most important qualities they will all share are (1) their attention to the safety and well-being of your child(ren) and (2) the enthusiasm and knowledge they bring to camp making every day fun and enriching for our campers. This camp runs 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with extended care available from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. This camp is open to current MCS students as well as non-MCS students.
Your child will learn the art of theater: improvisation, monologues, dialogues, memorizing, working as a company, acting, ad libbing, dancing, singing, costume design, and scenery creation. There will be plenty of thematic and fun projects during this two-week camp.
The Upper Elementary and Adolescent Drama Camp will be co-directed by Don Henchel, MCS Upper Elementary Teacher and his wife, Susan Johnstone, also a Montessori teacher. They have taught this camp for many years to rave reviews! This camp is open to current and incoming MCS students only.
2014 Upper Elementary and Adolescent Summerstock Drama Camp This camp is currently full, however we are taking applications for a wait list should we have any cancellations.
