MCS Fund

The MCS Fund is Montessori Community School’s number one fundraising priority and the umbrella for all our fundraising efforts. The MCS Fund is a permanent, recurring fundraising effort providing critical and unrestricted support to MCS’s operating budget, positively impacting students and families every day. 

No independent school can meet its operating expenses by tuition alone without becoming prohibitively expensive. A successful annual giving campaign helps MCS keep tuition increases to a minimum, and unlike tuition, donations to the MCS Fund are tax-deductible.

The 2025-26 MCS Fund directly supports our deeply held community practices:

• Supporting Signature Student Experiences with learning opportunities beyond the classroom, including outdoor learning spaces and off-campus experiences.
• Embracing a Growth Mindset throughout our campus with robust professional development for faculty and staff.
• Advancing Equity among our Communities of People through funding programs such as Student Support and Financial Assistance.

Spring Community Celebration

Each spring the community gathers either on the MCS campus or at venues in Chapel Hill / Durham to celebrate our MCS community. The past few years, we held the MCS Annual Auction Gala as the signature fund- and friend-raising event for the MCS Fund. The Auction Gala featured dinner, entertainment, and opportunities to support MCS. Watch this space for more details about the Spring 2026 Celebration!
